CANDLE CARE

We recommend following this guide to ensure you get a quality burn each time you enjoy your LUA candle.

Burn time

To prevent tunnelling and create a candle
memory, let the wax melt to the edge of the glass the first time you light your
LUA candle. Never burn for more than four hours at a time.

Trim your wick before every use

It is normal in soy wax for your wicks to
'mushroom'. Trimming your wick will ensure your candle does not burn hotter
than it should and prolong its life. Trim the little ball on the end of your
wick to keep your candle burning gently.

Avoid draughts

Candles burn best in still air, but if you
can't avoid draughts, turn the candle periodically to avoid uneven burning. A candle in a draught may also start to smoke.

Candle storage

Candles are sensitive to temperature and
light. Fragrances with a vanillin content may turn yellow if exposed to
sunlight or fluorescent light. This is normal and does not affect how the candle burns. Store your candles in an upright position.

Putting candles out

Using a candle dipper or snuffer rather than
blowing out is always best to prevent wicks from drifting off-centre and avoid
wax splash. This will help to maximize the candle's burn time.

Keep the burn pool clean

Wipe away any black soot around the edge of your glass with a cloth. This may be a
sign that your wick is too long.
